Zoom out (no, not that zoom!)
There is a book someone was talking about and it was so intriguing, I pulled out my phone and ordered it right then. It’s called “Zoom,” and it’s simple - a series of pictures which are tiny parts of bigger pictures, the bigger picture revealed as you turn the page. Guessing the setting is nearly impossible, but it’s very fun to try, and so clever!
This little book came to mind as I was thinking back on the past year. What I thought was the picture of my life in January was but a tiny picture of how my life is now at the end of December. And it has been a gift.
These past 12 months have moved me from the years-long dream of focusing on training and coaching around the CliftonStrengths to actually doing it. From coming up with ideas for a website to actually creating it. Spending time each week meeting new and old friends to see how we can help each other. And although I’ve certainly plenty of capacity for more, actually completing sessions for people who were genuinely appreciative of what they learned.
But enough about me – what are you looking forward to in the coming year? A new job, retirement, new house, adding a family member, expanding your business/selling your business, keeping everything the same for once? Whatever it is, I know you have what you need to get through it.
As I’m increasing the offerings of RedTail, I plan to be grateful for whatever comes my way as I turn the pages of my book. Perhaps my word for 2024 will be “enough.” I haven’t decided yet, but will be at a happy hour on January 25th to figure it out – join me!
Wishing you happy holidays and a fruitful and fun new year.
